Iceland
Kari our guide was outstanding! I don't eat fish or lamb and I thought the hotels were very accommodating for those of us that wanted something different. I wish we would have had more time in the city rather than in the bus all the time but I think that's what was set up so that's ok. Just would have liked to do the museums in Reykjavik. Dora seemed a little scattered but it all fell together. Thank you again. – Gail Thayer -
Iceland
Flying to the north was the best!! And having two three night stays was GREAT! I wouldn't change a thing except perhaps stay two nights in Rey as a day without alot of driving would be good. Would give people a chance to walk around, shop, maybe find something else to see there. We all like Kari VERY much. If he is going to do bus tours (which he doesn't like) he needs to be a bit more of a guide instead of a cowboy...ie checking people in, finding out times for breakfast, etc. I told him all of that in a nice way. When he does the jeep tours he just dumps the people at the hotel, but he just hasn't had the experience with larger groups which need help. He was GREAT with one of our people
The trip far exceeded my expectations
Hi Susie,
I just want to thank you for making up such a marvelous itinerary for me to enjoy, in Iceland. I cannot believe how very beautiful the country is! The trip far exceeded my expectations. Such a pristine and unspoiled country, Iceland is. My favorite thing was the taste of the drinking water and the purity of the fish without any mercury or chemicals. I enjoyed my adventure around the lagoon glacier and had not expected to go down into the volcano. That was a bit scary but well worth doing.
Now, I would like to commend Kari. He was wonderful and helped to make my trip so amazing. We had fun together and he helped me so much with everything.
Private tour with Kari
Wonderful trip with a private car and driver. This arrangement suited our personalities and desires to see the landscape, photo opportunities, beaks when we wished, not having to worry about navigating and allowing both parties to sit back and enjoy the scenery. Our tour guide born and raised in Iceland knew his history, geology, geography and Viking history and myth so well we also learned many things along the way. Kari accommodated us in everyway and ensure we were well looked after. So not only his knowledge was great he was very personable. You could tell he paid very close attention to our wishes, desires and attributes about ourselves. Definitely very well skilled in dealing with people.
I would go back in a heartbeat especially in winter to see the northern light
Hello Fellow Travellers, It now seems like a dream of our trip to Iceland. We have been home now a few days and have recovered from an unexpected Jet Lag. We left Maple Ridge via Iceland Air at 4:00 p.m. after enjoying Iceland Air's airport lounge with free food and beverages. We landed in Reykjavik at 6:00 a.m. (local time) which was too early to check into Hotel. The airport Kerflavik is about a 40 minute drive to the city centre of Reykjavik. We met our wonderful tour guide Kari at the airport who showed us around town and local sites until we could check into our hotel room. Now being up for about 40 hours we were wiped.
This tour was an amazing experience!
This tour was an amazing experience! A trip of a lifetime! Iceland is incredible and this trip was designed to show us as much as possible of its wonders. The itinerary was great and our fantastic guide Ivos did his best to keep us happy. We liked it all the landscapes, the hotels, the food (lamb was excellent!). However, my absolute highlight was snorkeling between the continental plates. It was not cold as we had expected and it was out of this world! The water was so clear that we were simply stunned. Our guide, Richard, was superb. He was very friendly, professional and caring. The dry suits were not very comfortable but they kept us dry which was important.
